The A S Abernethy estate on Yonahlessee Road sold last Saturday morning, beginning a cottage subdivision. Receivers Thomas P Puett H G Stevens and H H Yount oversaw the sale with C S Prevette as agent. Fourteen local and several out of town buyers purchased 125 lots, 74 of which sold, including Dr Frank Davis of Miami Beach who bought six lots and plans to build.

Hit and Run Victim Aided by Linville Woman
Mrs. Donald MacRae of Linville offered help after seeing a hit-and-run incident on Yonah lesee Road. She took a injured nine year old boy to Dr. Mary C. Warfield for treatment and left him at Miss Florence Boyd’s home on Yonah lessee Road for care. The boy’s leg is expected to heal with Miss Boyd supervising his recovery. Bananas, recently introduced to western lands, are claimed to have been eaten by ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans.

Prisoners Sentenced to Road Time for Jail Destruction
Two prisoners Chester Carroll and Thornhill received six months on the roads after destroying jail equipment and flooding the county jail. Reports say they caused a second flood upon return, raising doubts about immediate further punishment. Howard Hardin and Ralph Bennett got six months on the roads for carrying firearms. P. H.
