Barber shop proprietor held on forgery charge
Hmillo Jaselli, barber shop owner, was held on forgery charges by United States Commissioner Alison R. Taylor after grand jury action. He posted $3,000 bond and was released. The case involves forging his brother Rev. Nicola Jaselli’s name on four international money orders totaling over $300. An investigation by postal inspector Maj. F. Little followed complaints from Father Jaselli about unreceived legacies from a dead Italian uncle sent in 1905 to 2011 H Street NW. At the preliminary hearing, defense sought dismissal for lack of prima facie case, but assistant district attorney Proctor argued Edward Jaselli’s presence was unnecessary to hold Emilio, and the commissioner ruled accordingly.
