New York May 2. The Jumel mansion at St Nicholas avenue and 160th street reopened this afternoon after restoration. Hundreds attended the formal opening urged by Washington's Headquarters Association. Built in 1750 by Col Roger Morris the home became Washington's headquarters after the retreat from Long Island and Harlem Heights. The property later changed hands after the revolutionary troubles.
