Fatal rail yard accident at Union Bridge injures brakeman
In Hagerstown Maryland on August sixth Ira Whitmore twenty nine of Glengonville a brakeman for Western Maryland Railroad was killed instantly at Union Bridge yards. Charles Mackley thirty three of Mount Union was injured perhaps fatally while repairing a train as several cars shifted forward and crushed Whitmore and Mackley. Whitmore leaves a wife and three children while Mackley has a wife and several children.

Foster son kills wife then shoots himself in Hanover County
Richmond August reports Claud Brown twenty two a Hanover County section hand killed his foster father's wife and then killed himself.
