Building Trade Board Forms Governing Body of Industry Leaders
Washington creates a board of governors elected by the Employers Association of the Building Trades District of Columbia to settle disputes between employers and employees. The group, including millwork, lumber, steel, paints, hardware, plumbers, brick, and tile trades, wields authority to maintain harmony and prevent industrial disruption in the city’s building trades. The board represents major suppliers and contractors, with potential losses estimated in the millions if conflicts arise.
