A campaign style plea argues rheumatism will cripple the nation if unchecked. It touts Urie-O as a universal cure, urges readers to obtain a free trial via Smith Drug Co., and warns that butchers of remedies like liniments only move disease.
Santa suggests practical presents for men including a silk waistcoat for evening dress a fancy vest sleeve buttons and studs for the shirt a silk or crush hat a full dress suit gloves silk umbrellas canes silk mufflers scarves handkerchiefs of Irish linen or silk all placed in Xmas boxes.
The petition filed December 9 1907 in Daviess County Indiana requests the location establishment and construction of a public highway in Washington township to be drained graded and gravelled with a plan spanning from east Seventh Street to near South Street and further to a nearby road. The hearing was set for January 7 1908 at 12 o clock noon at the county courthouse. Signers include J W McCarty and a long list of Washington township freeholders.
The city of Washington Indiana enacts that only fire department members may ride engines or use hose wagons. Streetcar operators must stop traffic within 600 feet and refrain from riding over hoses. Violations carry penalties under city law.
