Federal rules reshape Iowa higher education landscape

Des Moines reports the 1972 federal education act will require a single state agency to coordinate postsecondary planning with universities, private colleges, community colleges, and vocational schools. Leaders expect cooperation across state lines for costly programs and increased occupational training, though no funds are yet appropriated. the Iowa Private Colleges and Universities association seeks full funding, while Lloyd Watkins calls for action to avoid empty promises.
