Jehovah's Witnesses leader arrested in missing teen case
A. Bourne, about 30, chairman of the Jehovah's Witnesses state convention in Des Moines, was arrested on a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Wayne Emmons, 16, has been missing for a week. Bourne, living in a trailer in Indianola, posted bond of 500 dollars after arraignment in Warren County. He is to appear for a Sept 30 hearing.

Posse Continues Hunt for Missing Woman
West Branch reports over 250 possemen scoured Cedar county for Ruth Madsen 26 accused of killing her husband last week. Evidence suggests she remained nearby days after the murder at the family home north of West Branch where the farmer husband was found shot. The couple’s car was found three miles away with their two small children left in a soybean field.

One Badly Hurt In Road Crash West of Town
C G Mohr a 57 year old from Deep River Iowa is treated at University hospital Iowa City after a head on collision with a truck six miles west of Washington on highway 92. He suffered multiple injuries including a broken leg knee cap arm jaw and ribs. Passengers in his car sustained injuries and the truck driver Homer Carmichael of Sigourney was hurt. A warrant and license issue were reported against Carmichael.
