Suresnes France Sept 17 Thirty thousand American soldiers who died in France were saluted today by wartime leaders and French and American Legion officers at the American cemetery. Pershing Foch and other generals attended as two flags fluttered over each headstone and two French army planes circled overhead in the tribute to the dead. Sheldon Whitehouse presided with Joseph L Wolfe delivering the invocation as officials toured the cemetery and other marked sites on the western front in a formal Legion pilgrimage consecration.

Senator S. W. Brookhart’s thirty acre orchard in southeastern Iowa will market about 800 bushels of apples this year.
