A grass fire burned about two acres of pasture on a Washington area farm owned by Charles Kennedy and operated with John Kennedy and Max Blodgett. Blodgett tried burning loose hay from a plow when wind spread the fire. volunteers and Farmers Mutual responders arrived around 11 15 and were back in Washington about 45 minutes later.

Not-Serious Injuries From Riverside Car Crash
Two people injured in a three car chain reaction near Riverside Sunday remain hospitalized in Iowa City. Louis Edward Pailliotet of Riverside and Mrs Clyde Meeks of Muscatine are not believed to be in serious condition. Pailliotet shows minor chest concerns while Meeks suffers back injuries at University Hospital.
