Dorinda Kempf Hershberger 93 died at the Kalona home of her daughter and son in law. Funeral 10 a m Friday at East Union Mennonite Church with pastors Swartzen druber and Garber. Burial in Kalona cemetery. Memorial fund gifts may go to Kalona Mennonite Church. Born near Kalona September 6 1869 she married Ephraim D Hershberger in 1895. Sam J. Miller 83 of Olds died Tuesday afternoon at Memorial Hospital Mt Pleasant. Funeral services set for Thursday at 2 p.m. in Olds Congregational Church with Rev Clyde V. Erwin. burial in Olds Cemetery. Zehr Funeral Home Wayland in charge. Miller born May 6 1879 in Henry County son of John G and Magdalena Miller. lived on his birth farm 71 years. September 21 Deadline on Wool Market Votes

Eligible wool producers must own sheep or lambs aged six months or more for at least 30 days since January 1. Ballots available Sept 10 to Sept 21 at the ASCS office Washington with in person or mail voting. Balloting decides whether to continue financing wool and lamb promotion via deductions from wool payments.

Landscape Workshops Planned Here Soon

Plans to hold landscape work shops for small groups of home owners in Washington County on October 31 and November 1 were announced by Jim Frier county Extension Director. Iowa State University specialist Margherita Tarr will conduct two groups of four or five families each for a full day.

Break-in at Dr. G J Nemmers Office on South Iowa

Police investigated a noontime break-in at Dr. G J Nemmers office on South Iowa Avenue. About $125 was reported stolen from an inner office after the waiting room was found open and a door pried. The incident occurred around noon today.

Nayadley 67 Dies at Home in Iowa City Area

J J Nayadley aged 67 died today at his 531 South Avenue C home after a sudden illness. Funeral services are pending with Sherman-Eden Funeral Home handling arrangements. He born near Kalona on March 21 1895 and was a retired Rock Island Railroad employee. He married Geanie Glider in 1919 and leaves a large family including three sons two daughters and 14 grandchildren plus several siblings.

Increased Enrollment In Mid-Prairie Classes

Mid-Prairie district reports 705 elementary students across Kalona Wellman West Chester plus 15 at Prairie Flower School of Special Education and 268 in the junior high with 105 7th graders 88 8th and 75 9th. Senior High opens next week with about 200 students. Total enrollment nears 1175 an increase of about 25 30 students mainly in Kalona junior high.

Crawfordsville Methodist to Mark 125th Anniversary

Barricade Removed From Riverside Road Opening

The final barricade was removed Tuesday from the south end of the new paving on the Washington Riverside road. The new paving is open to through traffic with some shoulder work remaining. The north end was graded this summer in preparation for paving into Riverside later, which was completed earlier.
