Jaycees raise funds for muscular dystrophy telethon
The Washington Jaycees collected 2101.48 dollars during the Labor Day weekend national telethon. Charles Miller oversaw the drive with about 1500 dollars from pledges phoned to Burt's Appliance City headquarters. Donations also came from a fish bowl and roll-a-banks at local businesses including Wagon Wheel Tap with the top roll-a-bank total. Nationally the MD fundraiser exceeded 21 million dollars.
