Rimer Pleads Guilty in Washington Co Simple Assault
Willie E. Rimer Jr. pleaded guilty in Washington County District Court to simple assault and was fined 100 dollars by Judge Charles Pettit. He had faced a charge of assault with intent to inflict great bodily harm for beating Steve Dunn last June, which County Attorney Richard Bordwell reduced to simple assault. The case delay over 60 day trial rights was noted, but further trial and suppression hearings are precluded by the plea.

House approves $1 billion postal subsidy with rate freeze

Vote 3.9 Billion to Create Jobs
The Senate approved a 3.9 billion public works package aimed at creating about 300,000 jobs in distressed areas.
