Mid-Prairie Hawks eye top EIHC with strong returners
Head coach John Strain believes the 1972 Mid-Prairie Hawks will rise in the Eastern Iowa Hawkeye Conference after an improved 1971 3-4 league mark. The roster includes 10 senior lettermen and standout sophomore Gary Hochstedler at quarterback, with a pro set offense aimed at rapid passes and rushing. Nonconference games at Washington and Waco open the schedule, then a slate featuring Durant, Mt. Vernon, Wilton and Solon, plus a Sept. 8 opener at Washington, Nov. 3 at Waco.
