Iowa Farm Outlook signals cattle prices easing into spring

Iowa State University extension economist Gene Futrell projects a gradual price dip for fed cattle over the next several weeks due to ample supplies of fed cattle, slaughter cows, pork and broilers. He notes prices may drop about $1 per hundredweight by late November and a further $1 in Jan-March, with heavier carcass weights a risk if cattle are kept in feedlots too long.
