October Halloween Costume Contest Planned by Committee
The Halowe en Planning Committee announces a city wide Halloween Party and costume contest for Saturday October 30 open to children from pre school through sixth grade. Registration at 6 p.m. in front of the YMCA. Contest divisions include pre school, K-3, and 4-6 with 15 winners receiving one dollar. Parades led by the junior high marching band will circle the square and prizes awarded at the YMCA program.

In the Central Highlands near Pleime two camps faced a major Viet Cong assault. U S air and artillery strikes disrupted the attackers as relief units formed outside the perimeter.
