Farm Board to seek credits for selling U S goods to France
Washington Oct 25. James C Stone chairman of the federal farm board announced discussions with Pierre Du Pasquierer of the Laval mission to establish international credit for selling American wheat and cotton to France and possibly other European nations. No sales were arranged yet. Dupasquier will confer with bankers in New York and return for further talks with the farm board and Eugene Meyer. Stone said European credit arrangements are urgently needed as Great Britain abandons the gold standard. France may need 10 000,000 to 20,000,000 bushels of wheat and cotton from the U S.
