Former Stuart man escapes Guthrie Jail then is recaptured
Allen Finley, 19, a former Stuart resident, walked out of Guthrie County Jail during a trash removal at 6:15 am. He was apprehended about 7:30 am by sheriff's officers while hitchhiking east of Guthrie Center on breaking and entering charges.

Washington UPI reports IRS Commissioner Donald Alexander says the 1976 1040A form will be larger and easier to read for non itemizers, but new law requires more computations and a choice between two methods for the $35 tax credit. The maximum credit remains $180 per family or $90 for married separate filers. Taxpayers will compute standard deduction and taxable income and use a single table to determine tax owed.
