DES MOINES The ensign flown by the battleship Lowa when she steamed into Tokyo bay Aug 29 after months of Pacific action is to be presented to its namesake state Thursday afternoon. The governor will decide whether the flag is kept in the state house or at the state historical society. Close Schools and Church Closed Over Polio Case
In Davenport area near Mt Joyla two schools and a church were shut Sunday after one death and four illnesses from infantile paralysis. Harvey Haars of Geneseo died in a local hospital, while Victor Koch, Martha Natolicki, and Mrs. Koch were in serious condition at Iowa City hospital. A second case, eight year old Duane Owens of Le Claire, is hospitalized. No Davenport cases reported.

Two State Men Are Killed in Minnesota
MILACA Minnesota two Towans returning from a fishing trip were killed in a head on collision with a truck on highway 169 five and a half miles south of Milaca. Charles Wesley Cox 50 of Mason City driver of the car and Harold Leonard Klatt 32 of Mason City died. Coxs three sons were injured and treated in a Milaca hospital. Glenn Cox 27 a paratrooper on furlough was among the injured.

Funeral services for Robert Mathieu 57 of Wayland were held at St. James Church with Rev. H. J. Corcoran presiding. Burial followed in a Mo line Illinois cemetery. Mathieu died in Rochester Minnesota after a hospital stay and long illness. He was born February 21 1888 in Switzerland and came to the United States 34 years ago. He married Adeline Mavenzet February 12 1916 and they resided in the Wayland area. Surviving are his wife five daughters Emma Eva Mary Helen Frances Haynes and Pfe Everett Mathieu a marine, killed March 13 1945 at Iwo Jima, and two grandchildren.
