Post Office Robberies Hit Southwest Iowa Towns
A column notes five post office robberies across a 12 mile area near Creston Iowa this week. On Thursday night Orient and Nevinville were looted from a store location in Orient and Adams county. Thieves blew open safes in Orient and Nevinville and stole cash stamps shotgun shells and merchandise. Postmaster Carl Anderson is named as the Orient post office official.

Boys Get Prison Term For Theft of Car
Three teenage boys from Saint Paul Minnesota hitchhiked to Carrell and borrowed a car in the business district to travel toward Ames Iowa. They were sent to the state reformatory at Anamosa for one year after pleading guilty to taking a automobile without the owner's consent. They were stopped by Greene County sheriff at Jefferson within an hour of the theft and confessed they had left a stolen car abandoned at Odebolt Iowa.

Downed Man Dies Of Shotgun Wound
Sioux City report says Don Hoover of Sioux City died from a shotgun wound after his body was recovered from the Missouri River near Homer. Officials waited to announce cause to avoid hindering an investigation that may be a murder case. The body had been in the river two to three weeks and was identified recently.
