The mother of triplets, born Oct 10 in Cedar Falls, died Friday morning from a pulmonary embolism just after entering an automobile to leave the hospital. Mrs. Russell Troutfetter, who had seemed to recover well, planned to bring her three sons home once they gained more weight in the hospital.
Alfred Meyer Clinton was installed as grand master of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Iowa during the final convention session. Other officers named include George C. Smith of Grand Rapids as deputy grand master, C. G. Viall of Mason City as grand warden, C. D. Evans of Ottumwa as grand treasurer, and W. A. Merriam of Des Moines as grand secretary.
Decorah lawyer J. A. Nelson faces suspension after a sworn statement agreeing to the move. The case stems from alleged misconduct related to the estate of Nicolai W. Johnson, an incapable individual. An embezzlement charge involving Johnson estate funds remains pending, continued to the November term.

Mrs. Dave McGaffey is general chairman and says prizes will be awarded to the worst looking tramps. A ten cent fine is planned for those not arriving dressed as a tramp or showing their degree of hard time.
Mr and Mrs Clayton Bear received word from the War Department that their son Pvt Richard R Bear was seriously wounded October 3 in Holland while on active service. He had recently returned to combat duty from earlier wounds in France and now has a new address to be confirmed with his parents.
Mr and Mrs J W Peterson again run the Congress hotel though future business plans are indefinite. The former owners gave up the hotel and the resident manager returned home to Creston. Meals are not served presently except for private dining room parties, with policy to be decided later.
