Mrs. Mary A. Lewis Dies in San Jose Journey of Washington Jurist Family
Mary A. Chapman Lewis, wife of J. R. Lewis a Washington Territory judge and ex-chief justice, dies in San Jose California after a year of illness. Born in Ohio, she and her husband’s years in Idaho Washington and Seattle are noted with care given to family and church work. Funeral at their San Jose residence follows a long life of devotion to family and Methodist duties.
