Mrs Laura Philips wife of Dr Jas Philips died this morning at 1 oclock after a sudden back pain and paralysis. She was 40 last August daughter of Judge Newman Luccus County born and raised. Funeral from Christida Chapel tomorrow at 2 p.m.
In Justice Maxwell's court this morning twenty eight gallons of beer captured at Riverside by Constable McElroy were condemned. The Riverside agent for the Burlington Cedar Rapids and Northern testified, being a strict prohibitionist and seeking legal settlement. The beer was destroyed.
