Light snow fell overnight across Washington County delaying classes Friday as students in Washington District and St James Parochial School stay home while teachers attend a state convention. The weather kept accumulations on trees and cars and cooler temps persisted through the afternoon. William Shannon of the Washington Evening Journal was named to the Iowa Daily Press Association Advertising Advisory Committee along with three others. Stewart Elementary hosted an open house with over 100 attendees and prompt notice for photo pickup set for Thursday after school in the kindergarten room.
