A rural Wapello man was hospitalized at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City after an accident Friday at 3 15 p m six miles north of the Ainsworth junction on Highway 218. Do ris Forbes of Conesville slowed to turn east when Donald Dean Schmeiser of Route 2 Wapello rear ended her car and overturned in the ditch. Schmeiser sustained a broken back and other injuries and was taken to Iowa City for treatment. Forbes's car suffered about 100 dollars in damage.
