Death of John Jackson Aged Resident at 68
John Jackson aged about 68, longtime resident of this city, died at his West Washington home this morning after months of illness. He leaves seven children F B Jackson J E Jackson and Mrs Little of this city C T Jackson and Mrs J O Bailey of Grinnell Mrs Craven of Harvey Illinois and W R Jackson in college at Grinnell. Funeral services will be at the M E Church tomorrow at 2 conducted by Rev W G Thorne. Interment in Elm Grove cemetery. Journal extends sympathy to the family.

A Lumber Wagon Team Breaks Loose After Lecture
After a lecture last night a large team attached to a lumber wagon broke loose from the east side of the square and ran north. They smashed the stile in front of Judge Dewey's residence, then hit a light pole and tore a wheel off a short distance away. The owner's name was not learned and the team was last seen heading north at a John RK Gentry gait.
