Vice President Richard M. Nixon pressed westward on a California fundraising swing for Republican candidates ahead of the November election. At a Hollywood Palladium banquet he drew about 300,000 in receipts and aides say the California trek raised over 600,000 plus another 100,000 in Oregon. In Des Moines a group of Amish and Mennonites asked to form a rural school district covering southern Johnson and parts of Washington and Iowa counties. They claimed 184 pupils with an average valuation of 9500 dollars per pupil, a figure some protesters disputed. West Chester Man Injured in Two Car Crash
John A. Huper, 76, of West Chester, was taken to Washington County Hospital after a two car collision two miles east of West Chester at 9 10 a m. He pulled onto the highway from a county road and was struck by a car driven by Mrs Keith Stewart of West Chester. Mrs Stewart suffered minor cuts and bruises. Huber's condition was not determined. Damage was estimated at 350 to Huber's car and about 1 to Stewart's auto.
