Lespedeza New Forage Crop Demonstrated by Brighton Farmer
F. K. McClelland of Brighton, on the John Stewart farm northeast of Washington, is testing the new forage crop Lespedeza. He showed samples at the Journal office and sent another to Ames after a state agriculture school request. McClelland believes it has real potential, resembling alfalfa with heavier leaf growth, does not require lime, grows on poor land, and serves as good feed for cattle and hogs.
