Gathering at the Tate Home Before Departure

Friends of Mrs. Tate and her daughter Miss Jennie gathered at their Washington home for a farewell evening before they depart for Chicago to visit Miss Mary Tate. They will then go to New York City to be with Rev. Howard Tate and wife. The town regrets their leaving.

Bryan to Tour Iowa Cities After Speech

After his semi centennial speech tomorrow Bryan will depart at 1 15 for Wapello with first stop there then through Columbus Junction and onward to Cedar Rapids and Marshalltown. Washington sees many visitors but Bryan will not appear there this campaign.

One hundred and thirteen tickets were sold by Agent Fox for the B N W line with an hour departure rush delaying the train. Voter Registration Dates Named For City Wards

Residents must register to vote with ward registrars on October 22 28 24 and 31 and on election day. Registration hours are from a.m. to 9 p.m. Readied locations include Engine room City Hall for Second Ward with George Tripp and W F Garet. Engineer Buckley and brakeman lose fingers in mishap

Brakeman Sherm Dillon of Widon lost three fingers on his right hand at the D I D crossings west of Davenport while coupling the westbound train. The train was pulled by Engineer Jobin Buckley of this city and ran through this morning.
