Temple's Comedians bring a new red hot comedy with songs dances and specialties at The Graham next Monday evening. They perform three nights next week with a new comedy each night. Prices are 15 25 and 35 cents seats on sale Saturday. The troupe also performs at The Grand Ottumwa for three shows this week.
Mr. Jones who buys eggs and exchanges groceries for the same had a smash up yesterday evening. His team tied at the Rock Island depot bolted when frightened by a moving freight train. The wagon overturned tearing off its upper portion and scattering groceries. the owner faced a considerable loss.
General Alger and a party of campaign generals arrived in the city at 1 pm to rally crowds for sound money. The officers spoke to about 8 000 residents, with 300 old soldiers and many students in attendance. Speakers defended McKinley and attacked Bryan, predicting a defeat and urging continued support for sound money.

A small assembly attended, followed by a wedding dinner. Orr is described as a model young lady and future housewife. French runs a coal supply business in Sandwich. The couple will reside in Sandwich.

This morning L. S. Patterson injured his left hand trying to open a fruit can. The cut between the thumb and finger required stitching and will keep him from using the hand for a week or more. He is fortunate to have an accident policy.
Rev Mrs Johnson, appointed by the conference as State Evanglist for Iowa, is holding protracted meetings in Dean and will visit Columbus Jr and Washington in her rounds. Mr and Mrs Lewis Gardner of Lexington were guests in the city. A social dance took place last evening at the Mil ler residence west of town.
The Oct 6 forecast warns continued cold for Iowa, with a deep well reaching 100 feet and a likely good water flow by mid month. Ralph Taggart of Decatur Illinois, a guest of Robt Cherry, left for Koota to visit for a few days.
