A brown two story building north of Sigourney hotel, once Corbin grocery for over fifty years, purchased by Irney Hemsley, is being torn down. The structure stands as one of Sigourney’s oldest landmarks in Iowa.

Detroit October 6 William J Cameron Henry Ford official spokesman said the industry led the recovery by producing hundreds of thousands of jobs. He urged repeal of the corporate surtax and warned that reckless economic theories could slow business thus delaying a long advance toward recovery. Cameron critiqued Roosevelt era cures and warned of legislative barriers hindering industry.

Mrs. Alois Musil died at the Washington County Hospital around two o’clock this afternoon. The body was sent to L. A. Jones Funeral Home for arrangements not yet announced. No funeral plans were available today.

Fred Wendey of Eldridge is hospitalized with a broken left leg and left arm after a mule kicked him while he tried to harness the animal in Davenport. The incident occurred as the mule resisted the harnessing effort.

They are held in Cambridge Illinois for the assault on Mrs Elizabeth Cairns 68 of Jefferson Iowa who was beaten and robbed of 200 dollars.
