Bourne Convicted In Delinquency Case Over Youth Trip
Reginald A. Bourne of Indianola, chairman of the Jehovahs Witnesses state convention in Des Moines, was found guilty of contributing to a minor delinquency. He faces sentencing Saturday after he admitted giving money to Wayne Immons, 16, to fund a trip to a Jehovahs Witnesses convention in Madison, Wisconsin, against the parents wishes. Bourne identified himself as a representative of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, Brooklyn, N Y. The trial occurred Wednesday afternoon before Justice C C Briggs.

Convicts Escape Moose Lake Prison Recalled in Iowa Stop
Floyd Lackey 265 and George Liebhart 24 escaped convicts from Moose Lake Minnesota were captured near Emmons and Forest City Iowa after stopping for gas. Sheriff J J Johnston pursued and halted the pair on the highway between Forest City and Garner. Lackey was jailed for five years on highway robbery while Liebhart faced 5 to 4 years for robbery.

Child Crawls Under Car Fatally Injured in Nevada Incident
An 18 month old girl, Mary Catherine Corbin, died after crawling under a car driven by John Peterson at the Corbin home northeast of Nevada. Peterson, a rural mail carrier, stopped to assist with mailing a package when the child was struck by a wheel and died shortly after.

Directors Verdict For Defendants In Shettler Case
Judge J G Paterson directed the jury to return a verdict for the Farmers Light and Power company and the Iowa Electric company in the case brought by Mrs Gertrude Shettler over her husband William Shettler’s death from electrocution at a Wellman quarry on July 27 The defense argued the plaintiff failed to prove negligence and that the decedent’s own actions caused the accident This ruling closes the September district court term’s jury trials with this being the only remaining case.
