The judging will be closed to the public. Olivia Hosch, 78, Cascade, died when a fire gutted her home Tuesday. Her daughter found the house full of smoke and the body in bed. Officials asked the state fire marshal to investigate the cause.

Washington man pleads guilty to injuring auto in fraud case
A Washington man 18 pleaded guilty in Washington County District Court to injury to a motor vehicle after initially facing felony criminal conspiracy charges. Dale D. Zager was found guilty by Judge Ira F. Morrison with sentencing set for December 16. The incident involved damaging a 1974 green Ford Pinto allegedly to obtain insurance money from The Insurance Company of Iowa. Co-defendants Williams and Klein were dismissed earlier. Tolander pled guilty to driving while intoxicated with sentencing also set for December 16.
