Council approves contracts for city sewer and water mains
Washington City Council awarded about 1 million dollars in storm sewer and water main contracts. Gjellefald Construction Co. won 848,160 dollars for two storm sewer projects. Langman Construction Co. 101,243 dollars for water mains. Snakenburg Excavating Co. 30,862 dollars. The plan was revised to reroute a main sewer leg to appease landowners Gary Sheetz and Bonar, with 72 inch pipe-saving changes and land easement conditions. The project aims to drain about 192 acres and support northeast city growth, financed mainly by general obligation bonds with additional funds set aside from road tax and federal revenue sharing.
