Washington County Jr Cattle Feeder Awards Announced
The Washington County Beef Producer's Association will sponsor 50 dollars in awards for Washington County 4H and FFA Jr Cattle Feeder participants. Awards of 15 and 10 dollars go to the top two, chosen by the County 4H Club Committee based on buying, feeding and management. The remaining 25 dollars is prorated among others on a blue red white basis with no blue pen over 5. Enrollees must buy three head of heifers or steers before January, weigh and submit scale tickets to the Extension Office, and have no starting weight limit. A committee will visit to grade progress and pens will be exhibited at the County Fair in August with possible sale. Members must keep accurate feed records and feed projects separately.

Cold Canadian Air Brings Snow Flurries Across Plains
A massive Canadian cold front chilled the central plains to New England with snow flurries from Upper Michigan to Vermont.
