A four engine DC6 with 46 aboard was hijacked during a Caracas to Maracaibo flight. Four Americans were among 43 passengers. Hijackers forced a circuit to Curacao and sought an emergency landing. Police later disarmed the suspects and questioned them.

Waterloo Businessman Found Dead In Parked Car
The body of 43 year old George L. Combs president of Combs Advertising Co was found in his 1961 car in a workshop area of the firm. Police say a hose ran from the exhaust into a window and the engine had stalled from running out of gas. The county medical examiner ruled it death by own action with death likely since noon Sunday. No motive was known.

Styles Bridges Dies in Sleep Former GOP leader remembered as patriot
Senator Styles Bridges died peacefully in his sleep at 68 in Concord New Hampshire. Kennedy Eisenhower and Truman mourned his loss calling him a great patriot and effective political leader.
