Britain Agrees to Continue Free Weapons for India

Britain will supply India with free weapons and military gear to defend against Chinese aggression with safeguards preventing use against Pakistan over Kashmir. No quantities were specified, inspections allowed, and Britain may recall unused equipment. US cotton aid worth 46.6 million dollars to India was also arranged. Kennedy Macmillan eye November talks on Bermuda or nearby

Junior High Dance Lessons Begin Monday at YMCA

The YMCA will host junior high dance lessons Monday from 6 to 8 with instructors Mr and Mrs Duane Hagin sick. The class costs 4 for Y members and 6 for non members and sign up is requested before the first class. Also YMCA basketball league signups close this Saturday for boys. Caroline Kennedy aged five and John Jr aged two hold a joint party at the White House with about 30 friends from their kindergarten and play school. The event runs from 4 to 6 p.m. EST in the State Dining Room with ice cream, milk, and gifts.

Brighton Couple Named to Iowa Farm Bureau Young Member Committee

A Washington County farmer and his wife, Dean and wife from Brighton, were chosen as six young Iowa farm couples to join the Iowa Farm Bureau young member program advisory committee. The committee, announced by E. Howard Hill, will help plan a state wide young member program and assist counties in developing local efforts. It will meet in January to start planning state projects with peers from Hardin, Kosuth, Buena Vista, Lucas and Linn counties.

Second Fox Hunt Set For Saturday Morning

The second fox hunt of the season will be held Saturday morning December 1. Participants meet at the Thomas Corner three miles south of Cotter. A Atlantic storm lashed the Eastern Seaboard with strong winds and high tides, prompting flood and beach erosion warnings.
