County Home Organ Paid in Full Today
The electric organ for the new chapel at the Washington County Home has been paid for in full. Walter Farrell reports the total price of 495 dollars was reached after 29 dollars was collected this morning. The drive, run by the local Chamber of Commerce, limited contributions to 1 dollar per person or 2 dollars per organization and began a week ago. County Home officials thank residents and the Chamber for support.

Funeral Rites Today For John Christner
Funeral services for John Christner were held today at the Wayland Mennonite Church. He died Saturday November 24 1962 at Henry County Memorial Hospital in Mt. Pleasant Iowa. Burial followed at North Hill Cemetery in Wayland. Christner born January 3 1885 in Wayland was a lifelong resident and member of the Wayland Mennonite Church. He married February 19 1908 to Della McNabb. Survivors include his widow a daughter Ruth Witting of Crawfordsville one sister Katie R. Wenger of Wayland one grandson and three great grandchildren. Revs Omer Nisley and EC Schumacher officiated.
