Manford Kilgore of Ainsworth Dies
Manford Kilgore, 54, died at 8 a.m. today at his home near Ainsworth after a brief illness. Funeral arrangements were incomplete with Jones Funeral Home in charge. Born November 28, 1907 in Washington County, he was a son of John and Nancy Kilgore, married to Ruth Rathenold in January 1945, a World War II veteran, and longtime resident of the county. He worked 25 years for Standard Oil and later for the D-X Oil Co. Survivors include his wife, one sister Mrs Fritz Boileau of Washington, and several nieces and nephews.

Holiday Toll Past 200 Mark on Nation’s Highways

Illness Fatal For A Former Wayland Woman
Funeral services are set for Maude Oswalt Watkins 57 a former Wayland resident. Rev Omer Nisley will preside at Zehr Funeral Home Monday at 2 pm with burial in Green Mound Cemetery. She died Friday in Davenport after a long illness. She was born October 7 1904 in Wayland to James and Elizabeth Oswalt. She married Russell Watkins December 23 1925 in Peoria and had lived in Rock Island Illinois. Survivors include her husband two daughters Jacqueline Watkins and Mrs Ewald Vance and a son James and her mother Elizabeth Oswalt of Wayland. The body will arrive in Wayland Monday morning.

Believe Reds Are Testing Nuclear Devices in Space
