Waterloo Robert Parker, 14, a Minneapolis schoolboy, was arrested at Oelwein after getting off a freight train. He admits taking a horse and a bridle, previously lived in Oelwein, and left Minneapolis to avoid classmates voting on bringing him back after an earlier escape.
In a dim Iowa Methodist Hospital room an 8 year old boy, Donald Wright of Woodward, fights for life after 27 days unconscious. He was struck by a car and has already undergone two operations to remove blood clots beneath a fractured skull.
Davenport public library joins in a world-wide observance marking Andrew Carnegie’s 10th birth anniversary. The display includes a 1899 Carnegie letter offering to contribute $50,000 toward building the library.
Tests developed by the University of Iowa bureau of educational research will be distributed to schools nationwide and in 11 foreign countries during 1935 36. About 750000 tests will be sent to institutions, with each test formulated and normed over three to five years to gauge average student performance and reveal poor teaching when results fall below expected norms.

Harold Snyder of Cedar Rapids was fined 10 dollars and costs by Justice of the Peace J. E. Boyee for reckless driving. He admitted running a stop sign at high speed while operating a gravel truck.
Charles Lenninger of 110 West Monroe street died suddenly from a heart attack at 8 30 am in front of 807 West Monroe street He had health issues for two years and funeral services are set for Sherman s funeral home Wednesday morning He was 59 born in Harper and lived in South Dakota Keota Dutch Creek before moving to the area He is survived by his widow and ten children plus three sisters and seven grandchildren.
At 11 50 this morning the jury was impaneled to try the state of Iown against Dennis Hesseltine of Brighton charged with rape. The panel includes eight women and three men. Testimony introduction is set after the noon recess with County Attorney George F. Morrison prosecuting and S W Livingston Richard Leggett and E L Edmondson defending.

A 92 year old woman had her hair bobbed for the first time and a permanent this morning at McAvoy's beauty shop. This afternoon the shop planned a permanent for a one and a half year old. The elderly lady endured the treatment well and her hair looked nice.
