Preconditioned feeder cattle sale set for December 3
The first of two preconditioned feeder cattle sales in Washington is scheduled for December 3 at the Washington Livestock Auction Market starting at 11 a.m. The second sale will be January 14. Entry details due by November 25 include number, weight, breed, and description. This sale is for veterinary certified preconditioned cattle only. A second winter storm crossed Iowa leaving about one inch of fresh snow. Western areas were to see end this afternoon with eastern regions continuing tonight. Travelers faced advisories and troopers urged careful driving as interstates reported 50 to 75 percent snow and ice cover. The National Weather Service tied the storm to a low pressure system moving east across southern Iowa.

Four sailors died and 45 injured with four Belknap crewmen missing. The Kennedy remained on scene aiding search efforts. Navy officials suspect hydraulic steering failure may have caused the crash.
