Riverside Man Dies of Influenza at Home
John Shradel Sr. of Riverside died at nine this morning from influenza after two years of declining health. Born June 1853 near Richmond, he married Christine Truxan in 1878 and lived on a farm before moving to Riverside. Survived by Mrs. Shradel, four children and fourteen grandchildren. funeral arrangements pending relatives in California. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Marys and a charter member of the Holy Name society.
