Aurora Mayor Egan Arrests Again Stir Local Police
Aurora Illinois mayor Paul Egan was hospitalized amid claims police beat him and broke his arm while he sought access to Gov Stratton. He was handcuffed and escorted from the Leland Hotel after blocking a door near Stratton. Officials used a rarely invoked state law to detain him while Stratton was away. The doctor said no fracture, but a bad back was noted. Egan was later released from hospital.

Rescue Two Men From Muscatine Cave In Town

Baby’s Body Found Floating in Cedar River Near Gilbertville
A newborn baby girl was found in a sealed plastic bag in the Cedar River near Gilbertville after an estimated three to five days in water.
