Three Local Washington Students Win County Leadship Scholarships
Three Washington High School students were named as preliminary county winners in the Mid-America Foundation fifth annual leadership discovery program. Barbara Glassburner ranked first, Andrea Zeck second, and Claudine Letts third. The winners will be certified as Mid-America Scholars and the top two may advance to the final at Parsons College in Fairfield, with five $1,800 four year scholarships and a $1,500 allowance pool. Finalists face essays, oral presentation, and an interview. Ten finalists will be chosen for Saturday’s final, with award results announced then.
