In Moundsville West Virginia this morning November 15 a gas explosion in the Glendale Coal Company First Street Mine killed two miners and a boy. Two others were seriously injured and two more comrades were entombed as rescue crews searched the mine. Early reports estimated four entombed but a later check showed two remained unaccounted for.

Veteran railway worker and Crimean War veteran dies at 92
Augustus Antoine Glick, a longtime Rock Island railway maintenance employee renowned for steering the switch lights, died at his East Second Street home after a stroke. Born in Belfort France on September 2 1824 he served fourteen years in the French army including the Crimean War and the Balaklava charge. He came to America after discharge, married Agnes Beliel in 1874 and leaves six children and his widow. Funeral is set for 9 36 tomorrow at St James church with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
