Mark Churchill, 76, Dies Near Washington in Dutch Creek
Mark Churchill died about three o'clock this morning nine miles west of Washington. He was born March 23, 1861, in Dutch Creek Township where he lived, farmed, and served as a prominent citizen. Funeral services Sunday at 2:20 p.m. at his home, conducted by Rev. Merle J. LaFever. burial in Elo Grave Cemetery. He leaves his widow Salina Shorty, daughter Marie Churchill, a brother Joseph Churchill of Peter Nebr., and several nieces and nephews. He had been ill for about three years. Red Cross life saving demonstration by Konrad Testwaide of St. Louis noted nearby.
