Two arrests for illegal drug handling today
An 18 year old Washington man, Timothy C Hauser of 72312 East Second Street, was arrested this morning on a delivery of a controlled substance charge and held on 5000 bond. Rex Hicks, arrested Tuesday in Winfield and brought here, was placed under bond on the same charge, bringing this week’s drug arrest total to four and eight in recent weeks following a rural raid by Washington County Sheriff’s officers and state agents with city police involvement.

Al Chebuhar, district accountant in Washington, retires from Iowa Southern Utilities Co. after 34 years. He began in Centerville, became service supervisor in 1947, moved to Washington in 1949, served as assistant district accountant, then district accountant. He recalls early jobs, the switch from manual to computer billing in the mid-1950s, and plans to enjoy time with wife Mary, their five children and 11 grandchildren, plus travel and light sports.
