Fire at Miller Hotel Kills Elderly in Columbia Ky
A hotel fire in Columbia Kentucky killed at least five elderly residents. More than 60 firefighters from the area battled the blaze at the two story Miller Hotel for hours. The top floor housing at least 26 elderly persons was gutted. Ground floor firms including a law office and a care center were badly damaged. State fire marshal crews searched the ruins for additional victims.

The Washington City Council agreed to put four public works projects valued at about $1 million on the bidding block. The plans include two storm sewer lines totaling 12, and 6,277 and 6,335 feet, plus two 12-inch water mains and associated street work.
