Twelve Injured In Pitched Battle At Susquehanna Mine
NANTECORE Pa Nov 3 UP Twelve more men were injured this morning in a pitched clash between United Mine Workers and United Anthracite Miners of Pennsylvania. About 1,300 workers fought at the Susquehanna mine No 7 entrance, driving 300 pickets away. Firearms were used but no revolver casualties reported. Police dispersed the crowd after orders to march toward the mine. The fighting soon shifted to sniping with bricks and clubs as the larger UMW contingent prevailed.
