Legislature studies changes in BUI consolidation bill
DES MOINES IDPA A bill to streamline the operation of the state bureau of criminal investigation clears another hurdle. It would fold liquor beer and arson agents into the bureau and move arson from the fire marshal office. The measure would unify divisions under a single retirement system and consolidate dealer license motor vehicle registration and part of the driver license divisions.

Back Yard Blooms And A Park Visit In Linn County
Four Peruvian daffodil bulbs were planted at dusk with rain settling them. Dozens of red Oriental poppies bloom among purple iris, Peonies, and Harrison's Yellow roses in four shared back yards. A bus trip to Palisades Kepler State Park in Linn County included talks about wild flowers and ferns. The group enjoyed a modest Jello salad meal and discussed cookbooks, with Oatmeal Crispies cookies baked for two groups using a Crisco and oats recipe with optional nuts and coconut.
